Questions about research and support, answered.
What you can ask a study for, how Kingsley Med works, and what happens with your details and texts, in plain English.
Support at a study
Topic 1 of 3You can ask for an interpreter, translated forms, step-free access, a wheelchair, parking close to the door, large print, rest breaks, visit times that suit you and room for a support person. What is possible depends on the study and the site, so ask early.
At the first call with the study team, before any visit is booked. Then repeat it when each visit is booked and bring a short written list on the day.
It should not. Study teams want volunteers who can take part safely and comfortably, and planning support is part of running a study well.
For everyday chat, perhaps. For the consent talk and medical questions, ask for a trained medical interpreter, who will pass on exactly what is said in both directions.
